The Stories

Story #1 - Beer

Someone stole beer from the refrigerator of a 26-year-old man sleeping in the bedroom with is dog, police said. Police said that someone forced open the rear door of the victim's home on the 5500 block of West Farragut Avenue between 4 and 9 a.m. Friday March 29. When the victim awake, he noticed the back door open, his refrigerator door open and the beer was missing, police said.

Story #2 - Swimming

North Point Marina security reported a 21-year old male white subject was swimming naked by the E dock on Aug, 21. According to witnesses, the bathing suit fell off when the swimmer dove into the water. Officers released the man to his friends with a warning to buy a better swimsuit.

Story #3 - Sheep

Officials in Apex, N.C., finally confiscated the 80 sheep that David Watts had long been keeping in his home as pets (he slept upstairs, they downstairs), with the final straw coming when some of the sheep wandered into the local cemetery and munched on fresh floral arrangements. The town had apparently tolerated Watts's eccentricity for years because of his pleasantness. Said a next-door neighbor, "(Officials) felt like he was (merely) living an alternative lifestyle."

Story #4 - Bathtub

Recently, North of the city, motorcyclist Charles Warren, minding his own business in the left lane of Interstate 95, was hit by a bathtub (which had fallen from a pickup truck in the right lane) and was hospitalized with severe injuries.

Story #5 - Stoned lions

A cement lion statue weighing 60 pounds and valued at $200 was taken from a porch on the 400 block of East Grove Street between 9 p.m. May 30 and 5:30 a.m. May 31.

Story #6 - Cable

A digital cable box was stolen from Club 58, 959 Villa, on June 8 or 9.

Story #7 - Recycle

A recycling container was stolen from the 300 block of North Street on April 26.
